Trumpet player Bryan Shaw has had a career in music that followed the history of jazz/

He toured with a ragtime orchestra in high school, played trad jazz on the riverboats out of New Orleans, with many of the West Coast trad bands such as Misbehaving, South Frisco, and High Sierra. Big band swing with Helen Forrest and Andy Russell, Latin bands, disco albums, pit orchestras, movie soundtracks and jingles. The studio work led to him becoming a recording engineer and one of the pioneers of digital editing. His engineering was featured in an episode on the Discovery channel and he has been an expert forensic audio witness for various government agencies.

Since the rise of Rap and Hip Hop he was inspired to devote more time to travel.

His travels have him playing trumpet on cruises and festivals all over the world, from Tierra Del Fuego to Iceland, from the steamy tropics of Singapore to the dry dunes of Namibia. From the Ascona jazz festival in Switzerland to the Lindy Blossom Swing Dance festival in South Korea.

His playing has been reviewed in The Wall Street Journal, Jazz Times, Los Angeles Times etc.

Prominent jazz writers have told him to move to New York city, and quit playing Dixieland.
